Slow Art Day arrived in CDMX for the first time, and we were pleased to be part of the 2025 edition at Alejandra Topete Gallery. This global non-profit initiative invited cultural institutions to promote a slow and mindful contemplation of artworks, in contrast to the tendency to view them quickly in museums and galleries. Slow Art emerged to encourage a more attentive and reflective approach to art.

More than a theoretical current, it was a sensory approach centered on perception, extending to the artistic process. It became a day dedicated to the contemplation and appreciation of contemporary art. Visitors were invited to disconnect from the frenetic pace of daily life and allow the works of Claribel Calderius and Jason Kriegler, presented as part of the duo exhibition Entre Hilos y Relatos, to transport them to new dimensions of thought and emotion.

Throughout the day, we shared very engaging and meaningful conversations with the public, fostering a deeper connection between the observer and the artist through mediation.

The program included a guided meditation, an empowering roundtable led by Maria Ortiz, cultural mediator, and individual observation and mediation sessions with visitors. We offered tailored mediation for audiences of all ages, creating space for reflection, dialogue, and attentive looking.
